    Letter regarding RSE (Relationship and Sex Education)

    Dear Parents/Carers,

    Please see attached letter regarding RSE (Relationship and Sex Education). As part of our planned PSHCE programme we teach our RSE unit of work. Some aspects of this can sometimes be sensitive.

    Diversity Role Models Letter to Parents

    Dear Parents/Carers,

    Please see attached letter regarding St. Francis welcoming Diversity Role models into our school on the 19th June 2025.

    The workshops promote students’ Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural (SMSC) development, are aligned to anti-bullying best practice as laid out in Preventing and Tackling Bullying (Department for Education, 2017), and support schools in meeting their legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010 by fostering good relations between diverse members of the school community.

    St. Francis Healthy Schools Letter

    Dear Parents/Carers,

    We are so excited and incredibly proud to be sharing with you the following exciting news about our School. Please find attached our Healthy Schools re-validation award, where we have not only been awarded 'Beacon status for Mental Health & Well-being' but also the 'Leeds Children's Wishes' award for the work we do in allowing children's voice to be at the core of our School life.

    I am very excited to finally be able to share with you plans for the development of our School building as detailed within the attached letter.     Leeds Well School Partnership - Last Man Standing Game Competition

    Dear Parents/Carers,

    Leeds Well School Partnership is launching a Rugby League Last Man Standing Game to raise funds for their work across Leeds schools and communities. The winner will receive 50% of the total entries from the game.

    If anyone would like to join, here’s how to participate:

    To enter the Last Man Standing competition, follow these steps:
    1. Follow the link: https://leedswellschoolpartnership.co.uk/rugby-league-last-man-standing/
    2. Complete the registration form with your details for communication.
    3. Pay the £5 entry fee online via the provided link (include your name and Week 1 team in the message box).
    4. The entry deadline is Tuesday, 18th March 2025 at 5pm; ensure your payment is made before then.
    Once registered, participants will receive a reminder email about the first round deadline, which is 5pm on Wednesday, 19th March 2025.
    • Each week, select a Rugby League team from the Super League or Championship (you can only pick a team once).
    • The first round of fixtures takes place from Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd March 2025.
    • Results will be emailed every Monday or Tuesday to notify if you’ve advanced. If your team loses, you're eliminated.
    • A list of player selections will be sent weekly.

    This competition is open to everyone.

    What a brilliant first week back! Thank you for all your support with our annual Lenten fundraising already! Next week is Y2 leading our 'guess the name of the bunny'.
    We will be preparing for the beginning of Lent on Wednesday and receiving our ashes either at church or in School.

    If you can spare a moment to keep our children in Years 3-6, who are preparing for their Sacrament of Reconciliation in your prayers. They have had their first session last week and will be making the Sacrament towards the end of March.

    Jubilee Year of Hope

    Pope Francis has launched a themed Year of Hope. I'm sure you will agree it is a very relevant theme to have with the current state of affairs across the world from conflict to environmental concerns.
    Please find more information detailed in the attached letter and how St Francis will be celebrating the year. Specific activities that staff have already planned will be detailed monthly to our School Community.
    We will be launching the year across the Diocese of Leeds on Friday 24th January.

    Leeds Rhinos Family Ticket Offer

    Dear Parents/Carers

    Please see attached communication from Leeds Rhinos regarding a Family Ticket Offer for the match against Wakefield Trinity on 15th February 2025.

    Adult and Child 'Standing' Tickets are available to purchase on our School Money App under 'Shop'. Seated tickets can be purchased as mentioned on the letter.
